Shri Veeranarayana Swamy Temple, Gadag
Shri Veeranarayana Swamy Temple is one of the most famous and historic temples in Gadag. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the form of Veeranarayana, the temple is believed to have been built around 1117 AD during the Hoysala period.
The temple is renowned for its stunning blend of Chalukya, Hoysala, and Vijayanagara architectural styles. The beautifully carved pillars, grand entrance tower, and detailed sculptures attract devotees and history lovers from across Karnataka.
A special belief associated with the temple says that famous Kannada poet Kumara Vyasa wrote the “Karnataka Bharatha Kathamanjari” while sitting near one of the temple pillars
